We had a huge lightening, thunder, hail, and rain storm pass through Edinburgh today. My flatmate and I were in the living room watching all the people run around trying to find shelter after I had turned all the computers off in the flat. Nothing makes people move more quickly than a huge rain/hail storm. In Edinburgh, however, these are not so uncommon in the early summer. A couple of years ago, my flatmate and I got caught in a huge one on Princes Street which left us huddled in the McDonald's eve on the east end of Princes Street while watching six inches of water attempt to drain from the street.
