The Bank of Scotland (my bank) nearly went under on Tuesday and was sold to Lloyds TSB, which is an English bank, for a pittance. Here is an eloquent eulogy for the only bank in Scotland that was founded by the pre-1707 Scottish Parliament. I am now in the market for a new UK bank. Suggestions are welcome in the comments.
